Nuevo stop-motion del aclamado cineasta indígena, Zacharias Kunuk, «Angakusajaujuq – la aprendiza de chamana».
Con imágenes evocadoras creadas con animación stop-motion, «Angakusajaujuq: La aprendiza de chamana» es una adaptación de un cuento tradicional inuit de la región de Baffin Norte, en Canadá. La película da vida a la historia de una joven chamana en formación que debe enfrentarse a su primera prueba: un viaje al subsuelo para visitar a Kannaaluk, «el de abajo». Enfrentándose a espíritus oscuros y desafíos físicos, la joven chamana debe confiar en las enseñanzas de su abuela y mentora, Ningiuq Angakkuq, y aprender a controlar sus miedos.
«En la cultura inuit, mucho antes de que llegaran los europeos, hemos escuchado historias de cómo curaban a los enfermos en la época de los chamanes y los espíritus ayudantes que gobiernan la tierra, en la tierra de la diosa del cielo, la diosa de la tierra y la diosa del mar«, dijo el director Zacharias Kunuk. «Esta historia habla de un cazador que trató de ocultar lo que hizo cuando rompió el tabú de compartir«.
