La primera confrontación que recuerdo en mi vida ante el cine de terror, es con la icónica película, Brujas de 1990, dirigida por Nicolas Roeg.
Tenía nueve años, cuando una maestra decidió ponernos esta película en clase. ¡Vaya que me dio miedo! A mi corta edad no había visto película que me causará más terror. Pasé semanas con pesadillas gracias a la diabólica bruja mayor y su magistral caracterización e interpretación.Esta anécdota me ha hecho recordar por siempre a Las Brujas.
Al enterarme que habría un remake, de la mano de Ann Hathawey como protagónica, actriz a la que admiro y respeto, así como colaboración de mi héroe cinematográfico Guillermo del Toro en el guión, no pude contener la emoción. Si bien mis espectativas eran altas, ya que realmente deseaba una buen susto, una actuación memorable y una película digna, con toda tristeza me encontre en Las Brujas 2020 una decepción.
Por algun motivo decidieron eliminar el miedo para enfocarse en la comedia, entorpecer a las brujas y ridiculizar la que parecía una gran apuesta. Terminé triste por ver una película que en ningún momento me agradó, mucho menos me logró asustar o dar risa…
Me quedo mil veces con la versión de los 90’s, aquella cinta que me quitó el sueño por tantas noches, en donde las brujas daban pavor desde el maquillaje, merecedor del premio BAFTA, hasta las interpretaciones, lo cual no sucede en esta floja versión nueva.
En este punto sumar que el maquillaje de la primera versión es fantástico, mientras que en ésta nueva se ve opacado por efectos tecnológicos que carecen de expresión.
No diré que no la vean, pues siempre es mejor juzgar por uno mismo, aunque sí recomendaré que si lo que buscan es pasar un rato viendo buen cine, en INCORTO podrán encontrar verdaderas joyas del cine de terror.
